Teacher's Bios:
Betsy Jones-Cooper is a long- time veteran of Bikram Choudhury's famous Hot Yoga. She received a 500-hour certification from him in 1997 in Los Angeles, California. She has been teaching his system for fifteen years to countless numbers of students through her own studio, Hot Yoga Louisville. Today her passion for yoga goes beyond the 26-pose series to include extensive exposure to vinyasa and anusara yoga styles through a multitude of workshops over the years, while she maintains that her original training is the foundation from which all else evolves.
Betsy travels extensively in a self-study of yoga studios nationwide. She is attentive to details in how studios are run and classes are taught. She is "a coach" to teachers. Betsy has developed the ability to see the whole room, creating a unified energy while diligently working posture alignment.
Betsy's belief in the discipline of Bikram's style is what she will pass on in her 5-week Hot Yoga Teacher Training, along with her own "Hot Yoga Series."
Bea started Bikram Yoga classes in 1985 under Jimmy Barkan in Fort Lauderdale. At first Yoga was simply a way of exercise. After a few years, she started exploring other styles of Yoga and studied Ashtanga Yoga under the tutelage of David Swenson. In 1997, Bea took her yoga practice to another level and it became a way of life. This journey took her to India many times, where under the guidance of the Divine Life Society in Rishikesh she followed deeper studies about Yoga Philosophy and Sanskrit.
Having discovered the deeper meaning of this philosophy, she acquired a commitment to spread the message of Yoga wherever she went. Bea has explored many styles of Yoga, only to find the unity in their diversity. She has been trained and/or certified in Bikram, Barkan Method, Ashtanga, Jivanmukti, Sivananda, Iyengar, Anusara and Universal Yoga (Andrei Lappa).
Bea conducts her own teacher trainings and workshops worldwide.
