yoga etiquette

|
- Be on time for class.
- Make sure you know which type of class you are attending.
- All students must use a yoga mat.
- Do not bring cell phones, pagers, keys, bags, shoes, etc. into the studio. Bring only the items needed for class into the studio- yoga mat, towels and water.
- Be silent at all times while in the studio room.
- Inform your instructor of any injuries or health problems you may have before class.
- Do not enter/exit the studio during a class. ( If you have an emergency during class, try to leave quietly and between asanas. If you know before class that you must leave early, let your instructor know and position yourself by the door. Do not make this a habit.)
- Leave class quietly (in respect of others’ meditating) after the final breathing exercise, or the words of the teacher.
- Be consistent, as the effects of yoga are cumulative. Attending class on a regular basis will have a lasting and profound affect on your body and mind. Ideal attendance is 3 classes per week minimum. Regular attendance will also allow you to develop an awareness of the edge between challenge and an unhealthy struggle.
- If you have any questions and/or concerns about anything pertaining to your yoga practice, ask your instructor! They are your best source of information!
